ABOUT CARMEL.

Foundation

CARMEL School Kareli is a Christian Minority Educational Institution established and administed by the member Fathers of St. Paul Society of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (C.M.I.). Carmel is the mountain to ascent for spiritual enlightenment. It stand for concentration, discipline of life and attainment of wisdom. When Blessed spiritual master Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara founded a community of Christian Sadhakas in Kerala, he accepted the inspiration of Carmel for the spiritual ascent of his followers.

Tradition & Growth

As a pioneering educationalist Blessed Chavara started many schools in different parts of Kerala in second half of the 19th century. Today this tradition is followed by the spiritual sons and daughters of Blessed Chavara in all parts of India, serving thousands of children irrespective of caste, creed and colour. CARMEL is considered the seat of the mother of Jesus, the Immaculate Mary the Queen of Wisdom. The knowledge that flows down from the heights of CARMEL enlightens and enlivens. Hence CARMEL SCHOOL KARELI, a CMI institution (Carmelite of Mary Immaculate) undertaking to share true knowledge that gives light and life. We consider education as integral formation of the human person for the fulfillment of his / her individual and social responsibilities.

Our Endeavors


Our educational endeavors aims at forming leaders who are intellectually competent, spiritually mature, morally upright, psychologically integrated, physically healthy and socially acceptable and they dedicate their lives for the cause of justice, love, truth and peace. We aspire towards creating a just human society, where dignity of the human person is respected, where unjust social structures are challenged, where our cultural heritage of Ahimsa, religious harmony and national integration are upheld and where the poor and the marginalized are specially taken care of. For the realization of these goal of education we except students, parents and teachers to share this vision and to co-operate with us whole-heartedly.
